Rahole National Park

Located in 150 kilometers from the foot of Mount Kenya is the Rahole National park which was founded as a safe area for animals which were moving from the surrounding national parks and reserves. It borders the River Tana in the Carissa district. Though the roads lending to the park are poor this has not kept tourists from flowing to this destination.

A key feature of this reserve is that tourists are able to view the rare Grevy Zebra and Beisa Oryx which are rare species of animals. The wildlife population in this destination consists of elephants, zebras, gazelles, hare and leopards. River Tana acts as a host of many aqua animals such as hippos, crocodiles and fish. The different species of birds that live in this destination will give you a mind-blowing experiencing with their different traits and behaviours.

Activities to partake in while here include, Swimming in River Tana and enjoying the fresh flowing water fishing , taking a boat ride across the river while enjoying the view of the aqua life, hiking, Diving in the river, game viewing of the different animals in here, watching the birds as they move around beautifully and taking nature walks. This can be the best destination for a team building event for corporate organizations or any kind of team. To top it all the tourists are able to get a view of Mount Kenya and the snow on it and three peaks are clear since the destination is very close to it.

By Road:-

Road 1: Use Mbalambala road which gives you entrance through the Eastern entrance.

Road 2: Use the Garb Tula on the Isiolo –Wajir road.
