Malindi Marine National Park

Being in water and swimming with zebra fish to windsurfing is a perfect getaway from this beautiful slice of Kenya’s Indian Ocean Coastline marine park. It is endowed with breathtaking and magnificent marine life ranging from the fringing reefs, coral gardens in the lagoons, sea grass beds, mangroves, mudflats, marine mammals, turtles and various species of shorebirds among other aquatic animals. The park which was established in 1986, ranked as the oldest marine park in Africa is approximately 118km North of Mombasa.

The famous park which is highly protected, has fine White-Sandy Beaches, Emerald Water and colorful aquatic life. In the marine park, one is able to see Technicolor Fish of impossible and mind-blowing shapes and sizes: Flute Mouths, Half Beaks, Hawk Fishes, Lizard Fish, Parrot-Fish, Porcupine Fish, Puffers, Thorn Heads, Trigger Fishes, Zebra Fish and hundreds of others. With the presence of coral reefs makes it interesting for fun activities like the fascinating scuba diving and snorkeling. The park is home to more than 600 species of fish, 145 types of hard coral reefs, 12 species of echinoids, 135 types of gastropods and 200 species of benthic cover algae.

The diverse habitats of the park support a large species of aquatic life as it provides critical nesting sites making it even more beautiful. Other fun activities in the park include: water skiing, deep sea fishing, wind and kitesurfing and even cultural tours.
