The Center was opened in 1983 with the primary objective of protecting the endangered giraffe species only found in the East African grasslands. Giraffe Center commenced as a rehabilitation Centre to rescue the Rothschild giraffe. Therefore, it’s only at the Center where you get to see rare breeds of giraffe such as Rothschild giraffe.
