KIAMBETHU TEA FARM
Kiambethu tea farm is just 40 Minutes from the heart of Nairobi and in limuru and provides a tranquil insight in the life of a settler farm. A visit or a stay at Kiambethu tea farm makes a memorable time and it includes delicious meals, a visit to the indigenous forest, insights to the making and growing of tea provided by the hosts.
The tour starts from your hotel or a designated pick up point. Arrive at Kiambethu Tea Estate at 1030 hrs. Marcus and Fiona welcome you for a cup of tea with some homemade biscuits, before you get the history of the farm and how tea is processed. The tour begins with a walk in the indigenous forest with our guide who will identify the plants and explain how they are traditionally used. Look out for the Colobus monkeys close up and wander in the gardens which are home to a wide variety of birds and flowers. Return to the house to enjoy a pre-lunch drink on the verandah with sweeping views across the tea fields to the Ngong Hills. The tour ends with a relaxed lunch. Lunch is a 3 course affair with complementary beverages, soft drinks and of course teas and coffee! Return to the city arriving at around 5:30pm.
